February 2016

The year has been off to a great start for the NCCA with a sold-out New Year, New You; New Social Media Profile event held at Randstad. Our host, Randstad's Steve Shepherd, provided our Members with insights on how LinkedIn profiles are engaged by recruiters these days and what it means for the way we should set up our accounts in order to optimise our online profile. It was a fascinating workshop and interest far exceeded capacity, so we’ll be looking to organise another workshop later this year.

Next up is the second instalment of the NCCA Quarterly Economic Breakfast. The first session in November last year was very well received, selling out fast and we expect this time around to be no different as we are honoured to have Rabobank’s Executive Vice-President and Chief Economist Wim Boonstra joining us from the Netherlands. Mr Boonstra is in Australia for a short period and we are thrilled to host him over breakfast at the beautiful Langham Hotel on Monday the 7th of March, so don’t miss out and book your tickets now!

A week later, on the 16th of March, we will have the first NCCA Networking Drinks of the year at a very fitting new location in the heart of Melbourne, so please come and join us at New Amsterdam. Moving on to April, we are very excited to announce that we will be hosting the 2016 TEDxBinnenhof Viewing Party at a very special location in Melbourne. Details will be released soon, and this is an event that is not to be missed, so watch this space!

Another event that is not to be missed is our annual NCCA King’s Day Business Breakfast, coming up on the 29th of April. We will have the new Victorian Multicultural Commissioner Helen Kapalos – whom many of you will know as one of Australia’s premier TV presenters – as our special guest at the Langham Hotel, as she will celebrate our national holiday with us and outline the importance of Victoria’s multicultural heritage. Tickets are available now, so make sure you book soon!

As always, we hope you enjoy reading our newsletter and we look forward to seeing you at our next events.

It is now possible for Dutch citizens living abroad to apply for a DigiD and receive the login code at the counter of a Dutch mission. In Australia that mission is the Consulate-General in Sydney.
