We are delighted to announce that Wim Boonstra, Executive Vice-President and Chief Economist of Rabobank Nederland will be our guest speaker at our second Quarterly Economic breakfast.


Mr Boonstra will speaking about “A fragile world economy in an increasingly risky environment”, he will be discussing the outlook for major world economies, including the United States, China and Western Europe, over the short (2016/17) to medium term (to 2020); and the implications of this outlook to agriculture. Mr Boonstra will also discuss local economic environment.

Wim Boonstra is Chief Economist of Rabobank, Utrecht. He is also Professor of Economic and Monetary Policy at VU University, Amsterdam.


He has published numerous articles on banking, financial markets, international economics, business cycles and European Integration. In 1990 he won a Special Merit Award in the American Express Award Competition with an essay, in which he launches a proposal for the common funding of public deficits in EMU. This was the first proposal for the use of so-called “Eurobonds” to stabilize EMU.
